Raquel Mateer is a new teacher to Ovation this year and will be teaching all levels of Hip Hop this semester. She graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts degree for music with a minor in Applied Dance. Though she’s familiar with traditional dance styles like ballet and jazz, her favorite kinds of dance to teach are more alternative styles like ballroom, African and of course, Hip Hop. She has previously taught for 4 years at Classical Christian School for the Arts in St Pete, Florida before moving to Bradenton in 2016. Since then she has worked as a dance coach for Oasis Church and their Fine Arts Program for 3 years and she’s excited to be returning to a studio setting to teach with us at Ovation.
